TRASH BAG TARANTULA (6th grade)

We love this craft! Are you ready for this scary pet?
You can read the TRANSCRIPT here:
Looking for an inexpensive way to decorate this Halloween? I'm Lee Woodruff at the craft table with Family Fun. This trash bag tarantula is made from things just lying around the house and is sure to scare up some fun. You'll need 18 large black trash bags, leaves or newspaper, black electrical tape, and large red plastic party cups. To make the spider's body, fill the trash bag with crumpled newspaper or leaves, tie it together, and flip it upside down. To make the head, stuff a second bag, not as full as the first, tie it closed and tape it to the body. Create the legs by rolling up two garbage bags together lengthwise. Wrap them with electrical tape at both ends and at two points along the leg to make joints. Roll up seven more legs, then cut four small slits on each side of the spider's body and slip the legs in place. Secure with tape. Cut the lip off two of the red plastic cups, then tape the bottom onto the spider's body to make his red eyes. For the fangs, cut two triangles out of the third plastic cup and tape them onto the spider so the white side faces up. For an extra-scary effect, tie a few unlucky stuffed animals to her web.

Thanks for your comment and for reading our blog. We are working next week at school to make this great tarantula. We'll publish some photos when it's ready. I'd like to know where you are from!
